Meet Our Team

Tamryn Storm Hawker
LAc., MSOM, LMT, RYT
Owner, Acupuncturist

My approach to health care is multi-faceted. I am a Nationally licensed Acupuncturist, Herbalist and East Asian Medicine practitioner, combining the wisdom from many different disciplines to address the unique health concerns of the individual, You! Graduating Summa Cum Laude from Dongguk University, and deepening my studies in herbal medicine and acupuncture in Beijing, China, have given me a rich foundation in this elegant medicine. I combine my degree in Holistic Nutrition and Complementary Medicine with over a decade's experience as a massage

therapist and yoga teacher to listen to and respond to the body as a whole.

I graduated from the American College of Healthcare Sciences in 2012, focusing primarily in Holistic Nutrition and Herbalism. After gaining some hands-on experience interning with herbalist and Naturopathic Dr. Katolen Yardley MNIMH in Vancouver, I moved to Big Sur to live, study and work at the Esalen Institute. During this year and a half immersion between the PCH and the Pacific ocean, I began my formal training as a yoga teacher and  massage therapist, while interning with Dr. Randy Baker MD (homeopath and holistically oriented family physician). With many years experience working in private practice as a bodyworker I began my studies in Eastern medicine and Acupuncture at Dongguk University Los Angeles, further deepening my practice and understanding of this medicine at The China Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center, Institute of Acupuncture and Academy of Chinese Medical Studies.

The health care industry has always fascinated me and as I navigated my own journey towards health and balance, I found myself looking for answers where there were often none - an overwhelming place that so many of us have found ourselves in. How is it that you can go to the doctor and be prescribed a test, a medication, a procedure and yet still not get better?

The body is an incredible vessel, and given the right circumstances it can heal from almost anything. Eastern medicine provides a framework from which to view the body, mind and spirit as a whole, thereby assessing the opportunities for nourishing deficiencies, invigorating blockages, and rebalancing disharmonies. From this supported place, the organism thrives.

It would be my pleasure to walk along this path of curiosity and discovery with you. Please do not hesitate to reach out should you have any questions about your particular situation.    Check Availability

My path to healing has been shaped by a deep curiosity for how things come together. After studying textiles at the Rhode Island School of Design, I shifted my focus to acupuncture and herbal medicine, where I found a similar appreciation for the intricate connections within the body. As a California Board-certified acupuncturist and herbalist, I now use that same sense of observation and detail to meet my patients where they are—listening, observing, and tailoring treatment plans that guide them to health.

I graduated summa cum laude from Emperor’s College in Santa Monica, expanding upon my previous studies of herbal medicine at Arbor Vitae in Brooklyn, NY. Additionally, I had the opportunity to complete an externship at the Disney Family Cancer Center in Burbank, providing supportive care to oncology patients.

I view healing as a collaborative process where the mind, body, and environment are interconnected. My goal is to create custom treatment plans that promote balance and vitality for my patients. I specialize in hormonal imbalances related to women’s health, psycho-emotional disorders, acute and chronic pain, insomnia, and psychedelic integration, integrating both traditional wisdom and modern practices.

As a licensed acupuncturist with over a decade of experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine, I am dedicated to delivering compassionate and patient-centered care that fosters balance, relief and wellness. Through personalized acupuncture treatments integrated with the principles of Chinese medicine, I aim to support your journey toward optimal health and vitality.

My passion for healthcare traces back to my formative years at Hunan University of Chinese Medicine, where I immersed myself in an intensive eight-year program, earning both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Chinese medicine. During this time, I completed a one-year internship at Shenzhen Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and

three years of residency training at the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine. These experiences provided me with extensive clinical experience and honed my skills in managing diverse and complex cases with confidence, precision and compassion.

Following graduation, I worked as a TCM pediatrician for over three years at the Yantian District People's Hospital in Shenzhen, China. Witnessing the transformation of my young patients was always my greatest reward! Many children arrived to us feeling unwell and scared, crying or hiding behind their parents. With patience, compassion and effective treatment, they would smile or even play with us. Seeing them leaving healthier and happier brought me immense satisfaction and reinforced my commitment to this field.

These experiences allowed me to rotate through nearly every department across different hospitals, working with a large patient population provided extensive exposure to diverse cases, solidifying my foundation in both Eastern and Western medicine. Most importantly, it taught me to approach my work with humility and patience. There are always some diseases even doctors can’t fully explain, and there are always some patients who understand their conditions better than ordinary doctors. To cure Sometimes, to Relieve often, to comfort always.

After moving to the United States three years ago for family reasons, I deliciated myself to bridging the gaps in language, culture and professional practice. I worked as a medical assistant while continuing my studies to further develop my skills. I want to prepare the best of myself to know every one of my patients, build connections, and bring healing and energy to people’s lives.

Now, I'm excited to bring my expertise to you, tailoring treatments to address your specific needs and goals. My mission is to create a space where your body, mind and spirit can thrive, enable you to unlock your full potential and embrace a healthier, more balanced life. Check Availability
